Aetna Drug Rehab

Aetna is one of the largest private insurance providers in the United States. Being one of the largest providers, they offer coverage beyond just standard medical and dental health insurance, they also provide coverage for substance use disorder and mental health treatment.

At Restorations Health Care in Anaheim, CA we accept insurance from many of the top insurance companies in the U.S., including Aetna, to help cover the cost of drug and alcohol rehab.

Does Aetna Cover Addiction Treatment Options?

Aetna offers coverage for a wide variety of addiction treatment options. The extent of the insurance coverage offered will depend largely on the type of Aetna health insurance plan that you have, what substance abuse treatment services you require, and if you are going to an in-network or out-of-network treatment facility.

How Do I Check My Aetna Rehab Coverage?

Before beginning treatment, you may want to know what is and isn’t covered by your Aetna insurance plan so you know if you will be responsible for any out-of-pocket expenses at the completion of your addiction treatment.

There are two simple ways for you to check your Aetna rehab coverage.

The first is to either reach out to your healthcare provider directly to find out what kind of Aetna insurance coverage you have.

The other way to find out is to reach out to us directly. You can call us at 877-578-0708 or fill out our simple and easy-to-use insurance verification form. We will take a look at your insurance policy and let you know what is and isn’t covered. Additionally, should you be responsible for any out-of-pocket expenses, we will let you know about them before you begin addiction treatment.

Types of Treatment Aetna Typically Covers

Aetna insurance provides substance abuse and addiction treatment coverage from start to finish including:

Detox

Detox is the crucial first step in the overall drug and alcohol addiction treatment process. Detoxing is done to rid the body of all the harmful substances that are in it so that the brain and body can begin to heal.

Due to the withdrawal symptoms that commonly come with detoxification, it is recommended that the process be done under medical care and supervision.

Medical detoxing can be done at either a local medical facility, a dedicated detox center, or a treatment center that also offers detox services such as us at Restorations Health Care.

Inpatient Rehab

Once detox has been completed, the next step is to enter into a rehab program. One of those programs is inpatient rehab.

Inpatient rehab, also known as residential treatment, offers a safe environment to get addiction treatment without any of the temptations or distractions that come with everyday life. During inpatient treatment, you live at the facility for the duration of your rehab program.

In addition to therapy and counseling sessions, inpatient treatment also provides access to medical care and monitoring, including Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT).

Partial Hospitalization

A Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) combines aspects of both inpatient and outpatient rehab. A PHP is designed for those that don’t require 24-hour monitoring but are looking for extra services not offered in a standard outpatient program.

With partial hospitalization, you have the ability to live at home and come to the rehab center just for treatment like you would with outpatient. However, unlike outpatient rehab, you also have access to certain inpatient services such as medical care and behavioral health services.

Outpatient and Intensive Outpatient Services

If you don’t need around-the-clock care and monitoring or if you can’t put your life on hold to enter into drug and alcohol rehab, outpatient treatment and intensive outpatient programs (IOP) are the ideal options for you.

During outpatient treatment, you go to the facility during the day for your various therapy and counseling sessions and then you return home to your daily life.

Since you aren’t living at the rehab facility during treatment, it is important that you have a safe and supportive home environment, free and clear of any and all temptations or triggers.
